CUSHION LOCKDOWN: NYA-ETOK GIVES SUCCOR TO NSIAK COMMUNITY

The people of Nsiak Community in Ikot Ekpene Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State has received releif materials such as cash, stable food, hand sanitizers, soap  from Arc. Ezekiel Nya-Etok,
The Akwa Ibom State 2019, YDP Gubernatorial Candidate to help them stay safe against the COVID 19 pandemic.


Nsiak Village is  made up of ten (10) families, the ten family heads/representatives all registered their presence at the gathering through self introduction including the village Chairman, Youth and the community women representatives.

Speaking at  the event,  Nya-Etok  who was represented by his Media Consultant, Mr. Emmanuel Effiong described Nya-Etok as a selfless Leader who is passionate about the well being of his kinsmen that believes in practicing what he preaches to the world which in which an example can be seen on his refusal to amassed wealth for him self through the building of a primary school block for Nsiak children to have a conducive learning environment instead of building a skyscraper in the village for himself.


"In his words, this is pretty straight forward. We have ten families in Nsiak village and I would like to start by giving ten thousand naira (N10,000.00) cash, food stuff, or a combination of both to the poorest individuals in each of the ten families. I will count on the heads of each of the families to be fair to his people in choosing who should benefit. My preference would be for the widows," he stressed.


Etok urged his kinsmen on the dreaded COVID - 19 pandemic, he called on his people to maintain social distance rules of 1.5m at any location of meeting, while advising that everybody remains a suspect since the virus is not visibly written on the face.

He added that the heads of each of the families to be fair to his people in choosing who should benefit from the items with special preference to the widows.

The Akwa Ibom State 2019, YDP Gubernatorial Candidate  also advised  his kinsmen to maintain personal hygiene condition by washing their hands regularly with running water and soap, avoid hand shake and  dirty hands contact with the eyes, nose and mouth.


The awareness campaign session which was interactive, witnessed the little Miss Perpetual Daniel reciting the preventive  measures against Corona Virus.

On his part, the Village Chairman of Nsiak Community, Mr. Aniefon Edet called on his people to adhere to all the precautionaries measures to prevent the spread.

He thanked Nya-Etok for the donation while calling on the public spirited individuals and government to emulate Nya-Etok in order to reduce crime rate in time like this.


Similarly, the Village Youth President, Comrade Ifiok Akpan in his Goodwill message thanked Arc. Nya-Etok for what he has done to Nsiak community and appealed to the Government through Nya-Etok to deliver more food items and preventive materials within the period to assist the community.

According to him, "our Youths were mainly surviving on daily paid menial jobs, now that the situation is like this, the crime rate may escalate if support is not given to the youths", he said.

Highlight of the event was Presentation of food items while Nya-Etok emphasized, he would like to start by giving ten Thousand Naira (N10,000.00) cash, food stuff, or a combination of both to the poorest individuals in each of the ten families. In addition, He also present 40 Litres water-tap containers to the people, Hand Sanitizers and Liquid Soaps.
