  Iniemem Ndueso Akwa Ibom State Government has allayed the fears of candidates who passed the CBT exercise but were unable to attend the oral interview on their designated dates in the current civil service recruitment exercise.  There will be no penalty for absentees, rather a spillover date will be given to such candidates to go and express themselves.  This clarification was made by the Chairman of Civil Service Commission, Mrs. Ekereobong Umoh, on Tuesday, when the Documentary Team led by the Senior Special Assistant to Akwa Ibom State Governor on Research and Documentation, Dr. Essien Ndueso, visited to witness the interview process. The Akwa Ibom Electricity Consumers Forum -AKECOF has once again raised a clarion call against the persistent manipulation, estimated overbilling, and fraudulent practices by the Port Harcourt Electricity Distribution Company (PHED), describing their actions as a calculated assault on consumers’ rights and public trust. It is disheartening that despite clear regulatory provisions by the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC), PHED continues to exploit consumers under the guise of Band A classification charging the premium tariff of ₦209.50/kWh without delivering the minimum 20 hours of daily power supply required by law. In Akwa Ibom State, particularly across Feeder 7 and other feeders, consumers have not enjoyed anywhere near this benchmark. Yet, bills keep rising while power remains irregular.
