In a significant stride toward engineering excellence, innovation, and industrial growth, the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE), Abak Branch, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Imeduk Industries Limited, both based in Abak Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State.
The landmark partnership marks a new chapter in collaborative efforts aimed at fostering research, professional development, industrial advancement, and the adoption of global best practices within the engineering and manufacturing sectors.
Speaking at the signing ceremony, the Chairman of NSE Abak Branch, Engr. Nsikak Akpan, expressed the branch’s readiness and willingness to partner with Imeduk Industries Limited to translate shared visions into tangible outcomes. He described Imeduk Paint as a growing force and a strength within the paint and coating industry in Akwa Ibom State and Nigeria at large.
According to the provisions of the MoU, the agreement is designed to establish a collaborative partnership between NSE Abak Branch and Imeduk Industries Limited to promote engineering excellence, professional capacity building, industrial development, and community service delivery across Akwa Ibom State and the country.
The MoU further stipulates that NSE Abak Branch will serve as a resource organization by providing technical personnel for joint projects, leading project implementation and evaluation, and facilitating continuous knowledge-sharing programmes between both organizations.
In his response, the Chief Executive Officer of Imeduk Industries Limited, Engr. Ime Ikono, warmly welcomed members of NSE Abak Branch and expressed satisfaction with the partnership. He noted that the company was established to address critical gaps in the paint and coating industry, particularly in Akwa Ibom State.
Imeduk Industries Limited is a dream come true. In 2020, we observed that many paint and coating products were coming from outside the state. We identified a gap and made a deliberate decision to fill it, Engr. Ikono said.
Describing the MoU as a catalyst for growth, he added that the partnership would bring significant development. He likened it to a seed planted today that would grow into a big tree, reaffirming the company’s commitment to solving challenges within the paint and coating industry.
Delivering a goodwill message, Engr. Oworen Stephen, a member of the State Technical Committee and a representative of the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN), applauded both parties for the initiative and assured them of increased productivity through sustained collaboration.
He emphasized the importance of COREN certification and its far-reaching benefits to the engineering profession and industrial practice. Commending the brand, Engr. Stephen remarked that the name Imeduk Group of Companies inspires confidence in the quality of its products.
He expressed confidence that the signing of the MoU would lead to greater achievements in the near future and assured the partners that the occasion would be remembered as a milestone.
