Amotekun: Nnamdi Kanu, IPOB 1m support and the future

Busy Brain Now, the ambience seems to be blowing wind of tribalism, hatred, incitement and war. The security outfit that is meant to safeguard the people in South West region on a goodwill has now been polluted and diluted with rebellious gongs. It appears like a reverie when the leader of IPOB,  Nnamdi Kanu pledges his full support for Operation Amotekun and promises to provide about 1million men while outside the country. Sometimes, I wonder where this man always put his sense whenever he meddles into the affairs of the country. If Nnamdi Kanu could adress President Muhammadu Buhari as Jubrin of Sudan and Atiku Abubakar as Cameroonian. Then anyone who thinks his 1million men support would bring  peace is a Marlian that has no manner. Or what has  Operation Amotekun got to do with IPOB?  They are totally not alike in terms of vision, mission, and action. IPOB's mission is to pull out of the country, to go against the government  and declare Republic of Biafra while Op

UDOM: AKPABIO IN THE SHOES OF PETER ODILI

By Franklyn Isong For many who may not know, Dr. Peter Odili is the former governor of Rivers State. He served from 1999 to 2007. He did his best and contributed his quota for the state and its people. During his first tenure, I was residing in Rivers. I had a lot of friends in his government most of them are the big boys of today in the Rivers politics. Hardly a name is mentioned in Rivers politics today without tracing such person to the political generosity of Peter Odili or his administration. As a non-indigene in Rivers at that time, I used to jealous the indigenes, even though, I felt the impact of his largess through the good governance of his administration. At a point, Odili became a household name in the South South especially during the resource control struggle of the Niger delta region. He was generous to a fault. The people of Niger Delta (south south) region admired this man’s kindheartedness and in return, they adopted his usual dressing attires popularly called

My issues with the PDP Government of Akwa Ibom

March 9 we are going to vote again. In the last election the state government or the PDP was able to dole out the sum of five hundred thousand naira (N500, 000.00) as voter’s appreciation in all the units in the State and five hundred thousand naira for security, (500,000). During the election eve before the presidential elections were postponed on February 16th, the sum of two hundred thousand naira (N200, 000.00) went round all the units in AKwa Ibom State for the same purpose. Here I am not talking about hearsay, but what I saw and participated helplessly. Now the future of millions of unborn children in Akwa Ibom depends on the decisions we make today.  A thousand kids of the seeming elite class might have gone outside the country for education or for their various vocations but the truth is that there is no place like home.  Before I deviate, let me bare my mind as regards the type of politics we play in Akwa Ibom State. We act as if the people we are leadi

Nepotism is corruption, US Embassy says.

The United States Embassy in Nigeria has pointed out that corruption is not limited to diversion of funds but includes a wide  range of other infractions, among which is nepotism. In a Facebook post it made on Friday, the US Embassy noted that instances where public funds were diverted to personal accounts and where a public officer unfairly gives jobs to relatives were tantamount to corruption. Furthermore, instances of police officers demanding for a tip before granting passage to vehicles and where companies scheme to put their competitors out of business through corporate espionage and bribery were classified as corruption. The US Embassy’s descriptions on corruption did set the tone for Nigerians who commented on the post with their own experiences of corruption in the country. Commenting, Odom Egga said corruption was when public officials vow to fight corruption but shield those who are corrupt and punish those perceived as enemies. In her own description, Osayande

SENATOR AKPABIO'S CRIMES AGAINST UDOM.

Senator Godswill Akpabio is, unarguably, the most dreaded enemy to the camp of the state governor, Mr. Udom Emmanuel. He has been so attacked, abused and lied against by the governor and his agents. What crimes has the Distinguished senator committed his estranged godson and successor to warrant the kind of vicious and malicious war of attrition waged against him by the governor and his agents? 1. He brought Udom Emmanuel from nowhere and made him governor of the state. It is noteworthy that as at 2013 when he made him SSG, he didn't have any political ambition, nor belong to any political party. He didn't even have PVC. Senator Akpabio bulldozed everybody and everything and made him governor and by so doing, attracted to himself so many enemies. 96 % of political actors that supported Udom Emmanuel were coerced, persuaded and paid into doing so by Senator Akpabio. That's the first crime Senator Godswill Akpabio committed against Udom Emmanuel. 2. By ex
