A controversial prophetic warning has stirred political conversations in Akwa Ibom State following a public caution issued by Prophet Ekong Ituen to renowned lawyer and political figure, Barrister Emmanuel Enoidem, SAN.
In a message described as a divine revelation, Prophet Ituen cautioned Barr. Enoidem against defecting to the All Progressives Congress (APC), warning that such a move could place his political future in serious jeopardy. According to the cleric, the revelation revealed a political trap allegedly awaiting the senior advocate should he abandon his current political alignment.
“Don’t decamp to the APC. If you do, you will be messed up. In my revelation, I saw a political trap waiting for you, and your political future will be jeopardised,” the prophet warned.
The prophetic message, which has since gained traction among political observers and faith-based communities, comes at a time when speculations are rife about possible defections and realignments ahead of future electoral contests in the state. Barr. Enoidem, a former National Legal Adviser of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and a respected voice in Nigeria’s legal and political circles, has been mentioned in recent political discussions as a potential mover in ongoing political realignments.
While Prophet Ituen did not provide specific details of the alleged trap, he said the warning was issued out of concern for Barr. Enoidem’s long-term political relevance and legacy. He urged the senior lawyer to exercise caution, engage in deep reflection and prayers, and avoid decisions that could undermine years of political and professional investment.
As of the time of filing this report, Barr. Emmanuel Enoidem has not publicly responded to the prophetic warning, nor has he confirmed any intention to defect to another political party.
Political analysts note that prophetic interventions, though common in Nigeria’s political space, often generate intense public debate as they intersect faith, politics, and personal conviction. They also caution that political decisions remain the personal prerogative of politicians, guided by ideology, strategy, and public interest.
Nevertheless, the warning has added another layer of intrigue to the evolving political dynamics in Akwa Ibom State, once again highlighting the enduring influence of religion in Nigeria’s democratic process.
