Governor Umo Eno’s commitment to ensuring a merit-based civil service recruitment has taken another major leap today, Tuesday, November 4, 2025, as the main Computer-Based Test (CBT) examinations for civil service applicants officially commence.
The process which marks the begining of what promises to be one of the most transparent recruitment exercises in the history of the state's civil service is taking place at the CBT centre, located within the Idongesit Nkanta Secretariat complex, Uyo.
Invitations to participate in the examination are being sent out in batches, ensuring that every qualified applicant has an opportunity to participate in due course.
This indeed is a new dawn in the Governor’s quest to build a civil service anchored on competence, fairness, and integrity.
This approach also demonstrates the inclusive leadership style of the current administration which ensures that, everyone irrespective of political affiliation, background or connection is given fair and equal opportunity to be considered.
In line with Governor’s directive for orderliness, all applicants are advised to regularly check their mail boxes for their official ARISE CBT invitations.
Upon receiving the email, candidates are to log into their dashboards, accept the invitation, and print the acceptance slip which remains a mandatory document for entry into the exam hall.
Also, to ensure a smooth, credible, and secure process, the examination venue is under 24-hour CCTV surveillance, while security personnel have been stationed at the centre to maintain peace and prevent misconduct.
This indeed is a revolution and a model to other sub-nationals that ICT can be used to sanitize the civil service, promote efficiency, and enthrone merit as the only path to opportunity.
This approach which is part of the administration’s ARISE Agenda, has effectively removed human interference, and manipulation, replacing them with a transparent, tamper-proof, and data-driven system.
For the Governor, this is not just an examination; it is a bold statement of principle, that under his watch, every Akwa Ibomite, regardless of background or connection, deserves a fair chance to serve their State.
It is also a signal that going forward, competence will determine opportunity not godfatherism.
In years to come, when chronicles of administrative reforms are written, this CBT-driven civil service recruitment will stand as a defining chapter in Governor Umo Eno’s legacy.
