The Chairman, Board of Trustees, Independent Newspaper Publishers Association, INPA, Akparawa Emmanuel Sam, has applauded members of the Association for their faith and zealousness in the publications business, adding that INPA is fully registered with CAC in Nigeria.
"The Independent Newspapers Publishers Association (INPA) in Akwa Ibom State is a dedicated body established purely for the business interests of newspaper publishers. It is not a government support group nor aligned with any political agenda.
"INPA’s primary aim is to foster an environment where publishers are empowered to succeed independently, driven by their passion and commitment to their craft.
"As independent-minded professionals, members of INPA are encouraged to embrace self-reliance and resilience. The association does not impose restrictions on what members should or should not publish; rather, it respects the independence of each publisher.
"INPA’s role is to provide support, facilitate collaboration, and create opportunities for members to grow their businesses sustainably.
"At no time Emmanuel Sam would influenced the content of your publications. I can't not decide your editorial. It's advert I will give you and pay not news or anything in your medium," Akparawa Sam said.
The BoT Chairman further assured that INPA promotes synergy among publishers by encouraging cooperation and mutual support, adding that the collaborative spirit was essential for addressing common challenges and leveraging collective strengths.
"The association has evolved through consistent engagement, starting from initial meetings that laid the foundation for a unified publishers’ community in Akwa Ibom State,“ he assured.
Akparawa Sam reiterated that the President of INPA has two years term and if performed impactful and members can return the President for a second term in office, stressing that the association operates transparently and inclusively, without zoning or political bias.
"Membership is open to all publishers who share the vision of advancing the newspaper business in the state. Contributions from members are minimal and primarily focused on administrative necessities such as registration, ensuring that financial barriers do not hinder participation.
"INPA also emphasizes strategic leadership and governance. The presidency is a two-year term, allowing for fresh ideas and leadership renewal, ensuring that the association remains dynamic and responsive to members’ needs.
"Importantly, INPA distances itself from any notion of opposition to government. Instead, it seeks constructive engagement, recognizing the vital role newspapers play in society. The association encourages members to maintain professional integrity and to use their platforms responsibly.
"In summary, the Independent Newspapers Publishers Association in Akwa Ibom State is committed to the welfare of its members, fostering synergy and support, and implementing strategies that ensure the sustainability and growth of newspaper publishing businesses in the region," he concluded.
