The unpopular candidate allegedly nominated by one of the Governorship aspirant, Mr. Udom Inoyo, Mr. Thompson Effiong Akpabio has stalled the inauguration of Ubium South Ward 3, in Nsit Ubium Local Government Area.

The crisis started when Mr Thompson was asked to take the welcome remark but was vehemently resisted by angry youths who said he cannot be their leader.

They said it was wrong for some persons to sit in the city and impose leaders on them, saying such was unacceptable and will be resisted.

Addressing the angry youths and indeed the people of the ward, the MPM Coordinator for Nsit Ubium Local Government Area, Pastor Umo Eno said the team were in the ward to Inaugurate a peaceful driving committee and not for disunity.

He noted that the ward parades responsible and great men in the State, and urged the people of the ward to ensure unity, respect and follow their leaders accordingly.

The Coordinator who is the State Commissioner for Lands and Water Resources announced the postponment of the inauguration in the ward pending due harmonisation of the list in line with the principles of MPM.

Meanwhile, ward steering committees have been inaugurated in Ubium South Ward 1, 2 and Ubium North Ward 1.
