Ikot Ekpene/Essien Udim/Obot Akara Reps Seat: Youths Urge Nsikak Umoren to Contest

•••Insist Zoning Favours Obot Akara

•••Adopt Pastor Umo Eno for guber

Youths in Ikot Ekpene/Essien Udim/Obot Akara Federal Constituency has called on Hon. Nsikak Umoren to run for the forthcoming 2023 House of Representatives Seat, saying that zoning is in favour of Obot Akara Local Government Area.

The youths which came under the aegis of Visionary Leadership Network, and Umoh Eno Supporters, Obot Akara Local Government  Chapter made the called  during Pastor Umo Eno's Consultation with Sen. Chris Ekpenyong on Monday at Ikot Ukana, Obot Akara Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State, while also adopting Pastor Umoh Eno as their gubernatorial candidate.

Speaking with journalists, Mr Ukeme Akpan who is the leader of the group,  delightfully described Nsikak Umoren as a renowned business man and philanthropist who loves humanity and has been contributing his quota to the  people of the area.

According to Akpan, Nsikak Umoren is the right man for the Green Chamber's job come 2023, adding that the three Local Government Areas have completed their two terms.

"Obot Akara Local Government Area had Abom Tony Esu, from 1999 to 2003, Barr. Saviour Udoh, from 2011 to 2015, Essien Udim Local Government Area had Late Nsini Umosso who died and his tenure was completed by his aide, Hon. Suyie Inokon. Later, Rt. Hon. Emmanuel Sunday completed it by 2015 to 2019. Meanwhile, Ikot Ekpene Local Government Area had Hon. Patty Ette Inem from 2007 to 2011. Now, Rt. Hon. Nsikak Ekong is about to complete their turn, hence this is Obot Akara turn.

"We are out to take our right through Nsikak Umoren. Obot Akara youths will not fold their hands for Ikot Ekpene Local Government Area to rob us of our right.

"Second term is not a reigning fashion in Ikot Ekpene, Essien Udim, Obot Akara Federal Constituency, perpetrators should desist from it. This age long agreement of four years must be respected. Let me say this categorically, if the Stakeholders want to sell Obot Akara future we will say no to it. The youths are the leaders of today and our children are the leaders of tomorrow. Today we stand for the Truth, Equity and Fairness as Obot Akara is ready to take what belongs to us through Nsikak Umoren", Akpan stressed.

In the same vein, another youth group leader,  Ekikere Alphonsus, condemned Nsikak Ekong's second term ambition as it will jeopardize the equity and the gentleman understanding between the three Local Government Areas of the Federal Constituency. Ikot Ekpene Local Government Area is due for Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly and Obot Akara Local Government Area on the other hand is due for the House of Representatives.

"This is how we have been going about our political model for years. No one should use surrogacy statement of Governor want Nsikak Ekong when he never said anything of such, just to deny our right to and weaken internal democracy at the expense of Obot Akara future?

The groups commended Nsikak Umoren for his numerous achievements such as roads grading, supplies of desks to public schools, procurement of JAMB Forms to young school Leavers/Children who are now in various institutions of higher learning, medical support/outreaches and He donated food stuffs to Essien Udim IDP.

"He did all that as an individual and why wouldn't He do more when he becomes a Member of the Parliament? Alphonsus inquired.
