2025 End-of-the year get together: Community Spirit High as Nto Ekpenyong Atai 1 Uyo Chapter Empowers Pupils

By Ifiokabasi Abia

It was a joyful moment as members of the Nto Ekpenyong Atai 1 Uyo Chapter gathered in praise, worship and thanksgiving to Almighty God for safety, blessings, good health, provision and financial stability throughout the year.

Speaking at the event, held today at Ekpenyong Atai 1, the President of Nto Ekpenyong Atai 1, Comrade Oscar Ibanga, expressed gratitude to God for His benevolence towards their lives, businesses, families and careers. He noted that the year 2025 had been marked by unending blessings, prompting them to return home to offer thanks for all they had enjoyed in Uyo.

Ibanga explained that the group presented educational materials to pupils in public schools as a way of encouraging them. He said they were once like the children and wanted to support and inspire them with exercise books and pens, complementing the free and compulsory education policy of Governor Pastor Umo Eno.

In his sermon, the Resident Pastor of The Holy Ghost Apostolic Church Mission, Ekpenyong Atai 1, Rev. Uwem Udom, urged the congregation to reflect the character of Jesus Christ in their daily lives, careers and businesses. He reminded them that Jesus came to bring salvation and to ensure the fulfillment of God’s promises. He added that just as a son does not beg for food in his father’s house, what is needed is a good relationship with the father. According to him, God has kept goodness for everyone, and repentance is the key to unlocking His promises.

The Village Head of Nto Unang, His Highness Chief Boniface Akpanafia, in his goodwill message, called on members of the Uyo Chapter to remain united, support one another and work collectively for the development of Ekpenyong Atai 1.

Chief Akpanafia eulogized them for unity of purpose and urged them to love one another and eschewed their differences.

A highlight of the end-of-year thanksgiving and get-together was the donation of 1,000 exercise books and pens to public schools in Ekpenyong Atai 1, along with special songs of thanksgiving and praise for God’s goodness in 2025 and expectations of prosperity in 2026.

Those who attended the event included Comrade Patrick Udomah, Hon. Nsikan Isidore, Engr. Odudu Paul, the Village Head of Nto Unang, His Highness Chief Boniface Akpanafia, and Cornel Nsima Umoette (Rtd.).
