You're a Symbol of Peace, National Unity,  Group tells Gov Umo Eno


Akwa Ibom State governor, Pastor Umo Eno has been described as a symbol of National Unity for his bipartisan politics and all inclusive governance.


Executive members of Advocates for Good Governance and Humanity, the Renewed Hope Agenda, led by Hajiya Zainab A. Ibrahim Director General made the remarks on Friday during a call on the Governor in Abuja.



The group maintained that the governor has not only concentrated in delivering democracy dividends across the nooks and crannies of Akwa ibom state but has ensured political inclusion, tolerance and peaceful co-existence among every group irrespective of political leaning in discharging his duties.


"We are happy that you are one outstanding governor who understands that political parties are just mere vehicles to get to political office but more importantly you understood the need to unite the people for the purpose of ensuring unity, love and general good of all.


"We have watched with keen interest your genuine support for President Bola Tinubu's administration, we have seen the synergy and working relationship between you and the Senate President Godswill Akpabio, Minister of Petroleum Resources (Gas), Obong Ekperipe Ekpo among others in other political parties and we are glad that national unity, peace, development, progress and harmony remain your priority.


"Akwa Ibom state under your watch is working and we have seen the spread of projects and programmes across every sector of the state economy. 


"You are also a very compassionate governor whose milk of human kindness had touched the vulnerable and indigent members of the society beyond the boundaries of your state," they added.


The group urged the governor to sustain his pragmatic approach to governance and ensure that a new Nigeria emerges from his candid efforts and examplary leadership and political disposition as seen in his state .


" You are already a symbol of National Unity and peaceful Co-existence, you have also carried along non Indigenes of from across the country and other ethnic nationals residing in Akwa Ibom state in your administration through various appointments and empowerment schemes. 


"We are carefully following your activities with keen interest and we can also say emphatically that you are the symbol of a new Nigeria we are eager to have"


Responding to the remarks from the groups,  Governor Umo Eno reiterated his strong believe in the unity and progress and development of Nigeria above partisan politics.


The governor who maintained his strong desire to wholly support and ensure the success of president Bola Tinubu's administration said the president is working hard to address problems he didn't create.


He recalled his humble beginning and challenges his family faced to eke daily bread in the past stressing that his humility and compassion for the downtrodden was borne out of love for God and humanity. 


He expressed his deep desire to ensure his administration remain focused in ensuring that the people get quality services for the mandate entrusted to him while prioritizing unity peace and development above other considerations.


The Governor was also visited by officials from the Nigeria Institute of Social Media Analysts, NISMA, led by its President, Mr. Christian Eze. 


With the Governor were, Rt. Hon. Udeme Otong, Speaker of Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, Senator Aniekan Bassey, Senator Representing Uyo Senatorial District, Hon. Patrick Ifon, Member of BoT, PDP, Rt. Hon. Barr. Otobong Bob, Member, Nsit Ubium State constituency, Akwa ibom House of Assembly, Hon. Frank Archibong, Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs and Mr. Uwem Okoko, CEO of Hensek Integrated Services.
