The City Boy Movement, Akwa Ibom State Chapter, has formally adopted President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Senate President Godswill Akpabio, and Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, PhD, as its sole candidates for the 2027 general elections, pledging to mobilise massive grassroots support and deliver no fewer than 10 million votes.
The unanimous decision followed a vote of confidence passed on the trio during the maiden general meeting of the movement held in Uyo, marking what members described as a strategic alignment with tested leadership and performance-driven governance.
Addressing delegates drawn from across the state, the State Coordinator of the City Boy Movement, Engr. Iboro Johnny, FNSE, welcomed chapter coordinators and described the movement as a platform committed to promoting good governance and consolidating democratic gains. He said the endorsement was based on a careful review of the leadership records and performance of President Tinubu, Senate President Akpabio, and Governor Umo Eno.
Engr. Johnny noted that President Tinubu has demonstrated strong commitment to fixing Nigeria’s economic, security, and socio-economic challenges, while Senate President Akpabio has provided steady legislative leadership and effective collaboration with the executive arm. He added that Akpabio’s investments in human capital development, business empowerment, and infrastructure renewal across Akwa Ibom North-West, Ikot Ekpene Senatorial District, remain visible and impactful.
He described politics as the business of critical thinkers and stressed that the City Boy Movement represents a youth-driven force within the APC, strategically positioned to work for victory in 2027 and beyond. He urged chapter coordinators to build strong grassroots structures anchored on discipline, loyalty, and unity of purpose.
