Ini Okopido  has said that the action taken by the opposition party in the Akwa Ibom State House  of Assembly by declaring the seat of five legislators vacant was a ploy by Gov. Udom and Speaker Onofiok Luke to scare members of PDP from defecting. The APC leader made this known while addressing reporters in the Party secretariat, last weekend at the APC Secretariat, Uyo the state capital. Okopido said that, the  declaration of the legislator's seat vacant  was against the stay of execution, a motion  moved by the court. The event which held at Obong Nsima Ekere Campaign Ground along Edet Akpan Avenue, Uyo had its theme as, "My Help Cometh from the Lord". Preaching on the theme, Apostle (Dr) Patrick Jerome shared the story of David and Goliath and how David was able to destroy the fierce oppressor of his brethren.
