...APC holds Solemn Assembly to flag of Campaigns

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Akwa Ibom State, has held an Interdenominational Thanksgiving Service and Solemn Assembly to commit its campaigns into the hands of God, ahead of the 2019 general elections.

The event which held at Obong Nsima Ekere Campaign Ground along Edet Akpan Avenue, Uyo had its theme as, "My Help Cometh from the Lord".

Preaching on the theme, Apostle (Dr) Patrick Jerome shared the story of David and Goliath and how David was able to destroy the fierce oppressor of his brethren.

He added that as Obong Nsima Ekere and his people have recognized and sought the face of God, they shall all, like David, triumph over their enemies in the opposition, as they would become victorious in the next year's poll.

He assured them that their help is from He (God) who made the heavens and the earth, adding that God who will neither suffer their feet to be moved nor allow the sun or the moon to smite them day or night will preserve their souls and give them victory in 2019.

Chairman of the APC in Akwa Ibom State, Mr Ini Okopido told the gathering that the ceremony was a sign that the APC is prepared to take over the state, most specially as all the gubernatorial flag bearers have come together to deliver President Buhari and Obong Nsima Ekere in the next election.

He charged all party men to be statefast and remain committed to the cause, while announcing the slight modification in the campaign committee of Obong Nsima Ekere as he said Group Captain Sam Ewang has been named the Chairman of Campaign, while Senators Godswill Akpabio and John Akpanudoedehe are Chief adviser and Deputy Chief Adviser of Campaigns respectively.

Meanwhile, the gubernatorial flag bearer, Obong Nsima Ekere, Senator Godswill Akpabio and other APC leaders who spoke during the event said they were in the face of God to thank Him for the massive support-base He has granted them and to seek His direction as they step into the campaigns which has a promising result for the APC faithful.

Special time was dedicated for prayers led by Bishop Josephine Egga, Very Rev. John Eze; Pastor Ime Ibanga, Rev Asukwo Antai for the success of President Muhammadu Buhari, Obong Nsima Ekere and other APC candidates.

Prayers were also offered for peace to reign in the state and the country and for a bloodless election.

The event was attended by all bigwigs of the APC, including Obong Nsima Ekere and wife, Ese; Senator Godswill Akpabio and wife, Ekaette Unoma; Senator John James Akpanudoedehe; Obong Umana Umana, Chief Don Etiebet, Senator Nelson Effiong and a host of others.
