MELCOVY-P denies Mbetobong Billy, PDP over puported solidarity visit to Ekong Sampson

Press Release

The attention of the executives and members of Mkpat Enin Local Government Conference of Village Youth Presidents (MELCOVY-P) has been drawn to the purported solidarity visit to Mr Ekong Sampson and subsequent publication by some impostors and infant political jobbers, and we wish to state succinctly as follows:

1. That MELCOVY-P is a conglomeration of VILLAGE YOUTH Presidents of the 87 villages of Mkpat Enin local government area, led by its President general, Comrade Ubong Ekot.

2. That Mr. Mbetobong Billy and his cohort are not youth presidents of their respective villages and cannot make the executive arm of MELCOVY-P.

3. That MELCOVY-P being a socio-cultural organization is neither a political group nor an auxiliary of the Peoples Democratic Party in Akwa Ibom State.

4. That we condemn in strong terms the recent political rascality and lack of tolerance by the PDP members in Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly to our amiable son and member representing Mkpat Enin State Constituency in the 6th Assembly, Hon Otobong Ndem, and we will not condone such act of irresponsibility and wanton disregard for rule of law.

5. That we wish to state clearly that as youths of Mkpat Enin local government area, we will not take it kindly should anything happens to our own son, Hon Otobong Ndem.

6. That we distance ourselves from the said solidarity visit and disown the purported publication, thereby calling on the general public to disregard such sponsored publication as it aimed at distorting the existing peace and unity in MELCOVY-P.

However, we warn the impostors, political jobbers and their sponsors, every talented beggar and political appointment seekers, to desist from doing so under the disguise of MELCOVY-P, as perpetrators will be brought to book.

Anthony Simeon Akpan
Secretary general
MELCOVY-P
