DECLARATION OF LEGISLATOR'S SEATS VACANT, A PLOY TO SCARE DEFECTORS - APC CHIEFTAIN

The Chairman of the ruling All progressive Congress, APC, Akwa Ibom State Chapter, Hon. Ini Okopido  has said that the action taken by the opposition party in the Akwa Ibom State House  of Assembly by declaring the seat of five legislators vacant was a ploy by Gov. Udom and Speaker Onofiok Luke to scare members of PDP from defecting.

The APC leader made this known while addressing reporters in the Party secretariat, last weekend at the APC Secretariat, Uyo the state capital.

Okopido said that, the  declaration of the legislator's seat vacant  was against the stay of execution, a motion  moved by the court.

"Udom Emmanuel is to blame for the violence and the crisis in the state House of Assembly. The action you witness at the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly is a reaction to the illegal actions of Onofiok Luke who is backed by Udom Emmanuel. He boycotted a motion of stay of execution in the high court and went further to declare the seat of progressives, vacant"


He revealed that Udom Emmanuel has received over one(1) trillion naira from federal government, but have no single project to show.

Okopido accused  Udom  for instigating crisis in the state, adding that it was a way of diverting attention from his poor performance as a Governor of the state.

"The Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly crisis was Governor Udom Emmanuel's ploy to divert attention from his poor performance "

He condemned the action of Gov. Udom for   deploying market women to the street through his commissioner for women affairs and social welfare, to carry out  what he described as paid protest.

Okopido listed the failures of Gov. Udom administration Which includes, dilapidated schools, poor infrastructures, as well as non payment of bursary and grant  to studen through out his three years in office.
