...Collapes Structure for Ekere
The immediate past Managing Director of Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC, Sir Bassey Dan-Abia Snr has stated that he has always been a strong supporter of Obong Nsima Ekere until the moment he declared his intention to vie for the party's ticket.
Sir Dan-Abia disclosed this Friday while addressing a mammoth crowd of his teeming supporters and APC faithful at Ikpa, Esit Eket.
Sir Dan-Abia, who was one of the governorship aspirants on the platform of the All Progressives Congress told his supporters that following the outcome of the just concluded APC primaries that produced Obong Ekere as the party's candidate, it becomes incumbent on all true party faithful to queue behind the successful candidate that emerged to ensure total victory for the party.
He used the opportunity to officially declare that he has collapsed his campaign team to Obong Ekere, and as well urged them (his supporters) to give the APC flagbearer maximum support to emerge as Governor come 2019.
Sir Dan-Abia who described Obong Nsima Ekere as a capable man for the top job, also assured him of his support at all times.
Aside collapsing his support base for Ekere, Dan-Abia donated a fully equipped campaign secretariat as part of his support for President Muhammadu Buhari and Obong Nsima Ekere 2019 projects.
Responding, Obong Ekere, thanked Sir Bassey Dan Abia for the show of love.
He also noted that only last week, Sen John James Akpanudoedehe, had also handed over his political structure to him.
Obong Ekere who was full of praise for his fellow party men and co-contenders for the party's gubernatorial ticket, saluted their spirit of sportsmanship and called on politicians from other political parties to emulate them.
He also used the occasion to reasurre all the gubernatorial aspirants who contested alongside with him of running an all inclusive government.
Among those that graced the event included: the State Chairman of the APC, Hon Ini Okopido; the APC gubernatorial running mate, Dr Amadu Attai; the Oro-born gubernatorial aspirant, Dr Edet Efretuei; Bishop Samuel Akpan, Hon Samuel Frank among a host of others.
