2019: Rebuild Nigeria Party adopts Buhari, Ekere

*says Gov. Udom, PDP impoverishing Akwa Ibom people

The second term bid of President Muhammadu Buhari and governorship ambition of Mr. Nsima Ekere have received the endorsement of the Akwa Ibom State chapter of Rebuild Nigeria Party (RNP).

In a communiqué issued at the end of an enlarged stakeholders meeting in Uyo, members of the party resolved to "use all political tools to resist any attempt by any person or group of persons to frustrate the success of President Muhammadu Buhari and Obong Nsima Ekere in the 2019 elections."

In the communiqué signed by the State Chairman and State Secretary, Pastor Solomon Frank and Mr. Richard Idem, it was announced that the decision to endorse Buhari and Ekere was taken after due consultation with the leadership and stakeholders of the party in the 31 Local Government Areas of the state.

The party noted that having realized that the duo possess the capacity and experience to  drive, its members had no other option but to channel their support to President Buhari, Obong Ekere and the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Passing a vote of no confidence on the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), RNP accused the PDP of destroying Nigeria's economy for 16 years, and suggested that the incumbent president be reelected to nurture his vision of a better Nigeria to actualization.

RNP called on Akwa Ibom people to support Obong Nsima Ekere's governorship ambition, describing him as the right man for the governorship job. It alleged that "the Udom Emmanuel administration has brought poverty and economic hardship to the lives of Akwa Ibomites across the state."
