                                             Kyari           Six days after he went on self-isolation following the confirmation of his COVID-19 status, Abba Kyari, former chief of staff to President Muhammadu Buhari, issued a statement on his health. There had been rumours about his health condition, with some even saying the president’s right hand had been flown abroad in an emergency. Some also said he had died but in a statement he personally signed, the deceased said he was looking forward to resuming at his desk. He had said he was feeling well but would move to Lagos where he had made his own arrangement. AKWA IBOM STATE COVID 19 UPDATE 4.0 I have been directed by HE the Governor, Mr. Udom Emmanuel provide an update on the status of our fight against the invasion of the deadly disease- Corona Virus (COVID-19) as follows: 1. All 5 reported positive test cases of COVID 19 in the state earlier taken in isolation custody are hale and hearty while awaiting the conduct of a reconfirmation test. 2. Even though, they have not shown any noticeable symptoms, they are under close observation by a team of specialized medical experts. 3. Construction work has commenced on a 300 bed Isolation Centre in Ituk Mbang to complement existing Isolation Centres in Ikot Ekpene and Ibom Specialist Hospital, Uyo. 4. COVID-19: AKHA SPEAKER SENDS SUCCOUR TO ASSEMBLY STAFF

Aniekan Bassey on Tuesday, presented relief materials to staff of the Assembly, as part of modalities to ameliorate effects of the state government's ban on movement to contend spread of the ravaging coronavirus. Donating the items on Tuesday at the Assembly Complex, the Speaker represented by his Chief of Staff, Mr Charles Iwatt, said the gesture was aimed at cushioning the effect of the ongoing statewide restriction of movement. FG ORDERS CONTRACTORS ON EAST - WEST ROAD TO RETURN TO SITE

The Federal Government has ordered the contractors handling the construction of the East - West road sections 1 to 4 to return to site within the next one week for the speedy completion of the project. The Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Senator Godswill Akpabio handed down the order at a tripartite meeting with officials of the Nigerian Sovereign Investment Authority (NSIA), managers of the Presidential Infrastructure Development Fund and contractors handling the construction of the roads. According to Senator Akpabio, the Federal Government through the NSIA had concluded arrangement for the release of about N20 billion to the contractors if they mobilize to site within the next one week. Senator Akpabio recalled that the contract for the East - West road was first awarded in 2006 and scheduled for completion in 2010 but suffered some set backs because of funding constraints.
