EMMANUEL AMAMA: APOSTLE OF HUMANITY

             Emmanuel Amama

IFIOKABASI Abia
What is the prayer of many? Some replied 'live a good life', 'take care of myself', 'plan for my old age', 'plan for my family', 'celebrate my birthday in a grand style'. All of this prayers are good but the ultimate goal of life is to leave a legacy to humanity. What will the unborn generation remember you for?

Like Jesus Christ, as it is recorded in Mathew chapter five; the Bible says Jesus preach the gospel and heal the sick. After, three days when the people wanted to go, he had compassion for them.  He asked his disciples if any bread is available for them feed. Peter replied, there is no market for them to buy bread, excep a little lad with five loaves of bread and two fishes. Jesus knew what is going on with the people. Some will get home without bread. He asked Peter to get the bread from the lad.

Thank God for Jesus, Jesus was Jesus. He prayed, bless the bread and bread multiply. In the mind of some of the disciples, this will not be enough to feed 5,000 (five thousand men). Some of them were with their children and wife. The amazing things here is the five loaves of bread broke into three, that would be 15 pieces. Some of the disciples may occur to them where it finished we stop sharing.

Unknown to them, it begins to multiply in the hands of the disciples. The 5,000 men ate and satisfied and the pieces of the bread was picked into 12 baskets.

This humanitarian gesture of Jesus Christ lasted in the memory of many. A day came some men had long for such encounter. They looked for Jesus and found him.
What will humanity remember you for like this men ?

Every one has service to offer to humanity. The easiest way to know is the particular thing that touch you and you are uncomfortable. Like Moses, he detested oppression of Israeli in Egypt. Any time Israeli passed through a difficult tasks, Moses is uncomfortable. Their pains was his pains.

Comd. Emmanuel Amama, I can read it from his anticedent as an Apostle of service to humanity. He is not comfortable with inmates. Though, some people believe they should pay to have break the law.

He has given hope to the inmates and they has a light at the end of the tunnel. Years may may be long, it will one day be a time flies. The meditation they had give them a call to renew their minds as freedom come.

One qualities Comd. Emmanuel Amama emulate is that of the story of a good Samaritan. It portrayed to us that we should be our brothers keeper. For example, he was at Ikot Ekpene Prison on his annual visit to the inmates. This is very rare among highly place individuals. Most of them believe that the law breakers should pay for their offenses. It never occurred to Comd. Emmanuel Amama in this regard. It has been a very much adorable gesture to fulfill purpose.

The pleasure of re-orientation for new character formulation among law breakers and over 25 inmates has regained their freedom as a result of Comd. Emmanuel Amama ingenuity, Amama Prisoners' Care Foundation. This nGO is passionate about inmates and has has fulfill it mandate.

What time or when would other people emulate Comd. Amama's humanitarian gesture?

The fact that he would set a skill acquisition center at Ikot Ekpene Prison will help those inmates improve their livelihood after they regain their freedom. Most of them who venture into criminal activities and end up in prison custody will get new opportunities, new skills to earn a living.

If Robin Hook had this opportunity to work he will not steal to the poor but use his skills make money and give it to poor people.

It will salvage the stigma and raise a new identity to those who have benefitted from centre. Many things to do after jail term elapsed. New future rise. The past put behind for a new beginning and then live will have a great time. Instead of being dependent on the relatives, they will be independent and self actualization guru.

In Matthew 25: 35-45, “I was in the prison and you visited me”. This is the fulfillment of the scripture as a Christian.  Emmanuel Amama love for people cut across beauty, intelligence, class and taste. If I may ask what on Earth an inmate will do for Emmanuel Amama while serving his jail term?

I can authoritatively said that, the BoT President of Emmanuel Amama Prisoners' Care Foundation, Comd. Emmanuel Amama is an Apostle of purpose and humanity. He has set over 25 inmate free base on record of Emmanuel Amama put Prisoners' Care Foundation legal team. Among thses people are those who don't have funds, their case had some and was intervene.

When the skill acquisition center is fully utilize, some men would be employer of labor. Law breakers will be few. This gesture to fulfill the purpose of Emmanuel Amama ingenuity. Thus, Emmanuel Amama is an Apostle of service to humanity.
