Mike Igini, ogini?

                   Igini

By Gideon Ekere
This joke is a serious one. Because it is making us suffer a throwback to the era of political buccaneers. It's not that funny, but painful in disguise. The anger is increasing. No more as usual. Making time and human enemies. And we are still wondering. Where an election umpire brought a die-hearted fellow from. Wherever, whoever he is, we will get to know more in the-yet-to-be unfolded movie.
After jogging many kilometers to escape political dragons. Another one emerged from the moon. Just like my Igbo friends would exclaim. After being threatened by an ugly scene. Ogini kwano? Meaning, what is it. I've been forced to jump into the ring. Just to meet a man who came to serve. But has refused to serve with his two hands. I possibly want to ask him a democratic question. Expressed with a million thought. And then leaves him to his ancestral feelings. If not properly answered, hearts will be trembled. Because times are dangerous.
Currently, Akwa Ibom State is politically bereaved. Courtesy of a Delta man. Barrister by profession. Mr. Mike Igini. A stranger with a strange electoral process. The Resident Electoral Commissioner, REC for the state. The undefined 'integrity' man. Who has refused to play according the rules. Leaving his hands stained with greed, insatiability and prejudice. With these, there's no doubt he has slaughtered his conscience. And he can no longer claim honesty. Barring himself from pour and undefiled scenes. Overseeing a ridiculed selection process in an election manner. A man who cancelled votes for money. The higher votes he cancelled, the greater his reward. Judging from the way and manner the election results were announced. Why cancelled elections in APC strongholds? And never mentioned if others rigged. Displaying APC as evil, while PDP as saints. Nothing seems magical, but annoying than robbing Peter to settle Paul. Igini, ogini?
I know the people at the other side will be quick to defend Mike Igini. But down in their hearts, they know that the man has committed a wrong moral. He conducted a shapeless election that has no magnitude, no bearing. He openly made references to areas controlled by other Political Parties asides Peoples Democratic Party, PDP. In Ikot Abasi Federal Constituency, elections were cancelled at random. Just to frustrate the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Obong Nsima Ekere. Knowing too well that it is an APC controlled zone. He battled with stained blood. Gave unnecessary orders to magnify the chances of PDP. And then comes to claim 'man of integrity.' Like the crooked activist. Who eventually ditches activism to display 'selfish table manners,' Mike Igini has gone beyond 'ethical boundaries' to display his hatred for due process.
This is not a blaming game. But a tactical display of weakness. And surprisingly, this man who looks like a sickle-cell anemia patient is full of ideas on how to rig and cancel elections. Prior to the February 23 Presidential and National Assembly elections. There were targeted areas for inflated number of votes. The same thing was repeated on March 9 Governorship and State House of Assembly elections. After a carefully drafted plan, Mike Igini, whose hatred for APC dragged him into unbalanced equations. Unknown to him, his steps are gradually derailing. His time is running fast. The game is coming to an end. And the players will be made enemies of their own selves.
Ikot Ekpene Senatorial District was his key target. While Senator Godswill Akpabio became the scapegoat. Mike Igini was just playing the script of the past. While in Cross River State as INEC REC. We recalled he jumped into a sarcastic quarrel with Godswill Akpabio. And he was defeated by the Uncommon man. Not ready to let go of the past. He worked his way to Akwa Ibom as REC. Just to revenge the anger of the past. So serious, that he never wanted to associate himself with anything related to Akpabio. The game clicked. Ironically, Godswill Akpabio dived into APC, a realm also hated by Igini. That's how Ikot Ekpene Senatorial District was lost in flames. Unnecessary votes were allocated to PDP. While APC suffered a million cancellation of votes in areas where no fly was hurt. Mike Igini isn't aware that hatred is the coward's revenge for being intimidated.
The 2019 elections in Akwa Ibom was a premeditated agenda for evil coated bigots. They seem too joyous, but not happy. Mike Igini, the non-indigene of INEC umpire will be reward by season and time. Knowing too well that there was nothing like free and fair elections here. Votes were allocated to PDP without proper references to ballots. Our happiness is that things have changed. No more as usual. The judiciary is regaining its rightful place. They might have succeeded in the secret, but the judiciary will certainly do justice to the potholes.
During the presentation of certificate of return to the 'winners' recently, Mike Igini boasted that he has never conducted elections, which was later upturned by the court. This will be the first because we are no more dwelling in the past. Eyes have been opened. All hands are on the desk. Prison gates are opened. Waiting for Mike Igini and his gangs to match in. For Akwa Ibom people, do not allow yourself to be blinded by an undeserved winning, because the best is yet to come.

Akwa Ibom Deserves the Best!!!
