The Chairman, Essien Udim Local Government Council, Mr Anthony Luke says his administration will continue from where his predecessor stopped in the project Essien Udim.
The Chairman who stated this during the official handing over/taking over formalities by the outgone Chairman, Hon Raphael Isobara at the Council Secretariat on Monday, 1 up4 December 2020 said he will not abandone the lofty programmes of his predecessor for the good of the people since government is continuum.
Luke thanked Hon Isobara for his services to Essien Udim people during his tenure as executive Chairman of the Council and called on him to continue to give the new administration his fatherly advice.
The Council boss said his administration is poised to create impact and also promote peace, love and unity among Essien Udim people for sustainable development to take place in the area.
He reiterated his resolve to transform and reposition Essien Udim for the prosperity of all indigenes maintained that security, welfare and socio-economic well being of the people remained paramount in his administration.
The Chairman also commended the council's Head of Service, Mr Saturday Isonguyo andu other administrative staff for their efforts and support to the previous administrations and charged them to do more for the new administration.
He assured them of transparent and open door administration while urging the staff to come to him whenever they have challenges at their duty post.
Luke tasked those in charge of electricity supply to ensure regular supply of power in the council for the staff to use and condemned a situation where there is light only when the Chairman comes to the council.
"I will not tolerate a situation where generator is on only when the Chairman is here. What is good for the Chairman is good for all the staff in the council. It is not good for the staff to be crossing the road to go and charge their mobile phones outside the secretariat. I am not that type of Chairman, please," he remarked.
