A Forum of Former Presidents of Students' Union Government, that served in University of Uyo have concluded arrangements to inaugurate it's Board of Trustees (BOT) members come Thursday, 16th December, 2021.
The Chairman of the events Planning Committee, Mr. Michael Effiom disclosed this yesterday during a chat with newsmen in Uyo.
According to him, the event, taking place at E-Plus Prime Hotel, Uyo, by 4.pm, will have Obong Paul Ekpo as the Chairman of the event, while the Vice Chancellor, University of Uyo, Prof. Nyaudoh Ndaeyo will be the chief host.
Mr. Effiom announced those to be inaugurated into the BOT to include; Prof. Akpan Ekpo, former University of Uyo Vice Chancellor as BOT Chairman, Hon. Archibong Inyang, Secretary, while Vice Chancellor, University of Uyo, Prof. Nyaudoh Ndaeyo, Registrar/Secretary of Council, University of Uyo, Mr. Aniediabasi Udofia and the Chancellor of the forum, Akparawa Nse Ubeh are members.
The Chairman of the planning committee noted further that Governor Udom Emmanuel is expected as the Special Guest of Honour, while his Deputy Governor, Mr. Moses Ekpo will be the Guest of Honour, among other dignitaries expected at the event.
Prof. Akpan Ekpo expected speak on "Foundation for the Needed Transformative Leadership in Contemporary Nigeria: The Role of Gown and Town", will be the keynote presenter.
Giving more insight on event, the forum's Chancellor, Akparawa Nse Ubeh said among other aims of the organization, registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission, is to make meaningful impact on the University of Uyo, their alma mater as well as facilitate the advancement of members who are former SUG presidents.
Ubeh maintained that the forum will also promote accedemic excellence, attract sponsorship and scholarship to students of institution as well as provide support, financially. He explained further that the forum admits only one former SUG president yearly.
Other members of exco present at the media chat were, Mr. Ekopetop Uduak, Secretary General of the Forum and Engr. Essien Udoma.
