The Executive Chairman of ONNA Local Government Area, Hon. Kufre Umoren, has expressed profound gratitude to the youths of the area for their support, describing them as the "backbone" of his administration.

Hon. Umoren made the remarks on Saturday, October 11, 2025, while hosting all Village Youth Presidents of ONNA at his family residence in Ikot Ese Ishiet, as part of activities marking his first anniversary in office.

In his address, the Chairman commended the youths for embracing peaceful dialogue rather than violence in addressing community issues and assured them that his administration remains committed to promoting youth empowerment and inclusive development.

"I wouldn’t be standing here as Executive Chairman if you had not spoken with one voice in support of me," he said. "Your unity made it possible for the elders to adopt me as the youth slot. And that is why I have come to say thank you. This David you chose to make king in the house of Jesse will not disappoint you."

Hon. Umoren also extended appreciation to Governor Umo Eno and former Governor Udom Emmanuel for listening to the voice of the youths during the 2024 election, which, he said, paved the way for his emergence as Chairman.

He noted that despite being "the only PDP Chairman standing," Governor Eno continues to treat him as a son, adding that ONNA youths will remain steadfast in their support for the Governor for eight years.

"As the captain of ONNA youths, I can assure you that ONNA will queue behind His Excellency, Pastor Umo Eno, for eight years," Hon. Umoren declared.

In their goodwill messages, the Leader of ONNA's Legislature, Hon Samuel Felix, Supervisor for Youth and Sports, Comrade Ubong Essien; the Acting ONNA Youth Council Chairman, Mr. Tony Ekpo; and Comrade Akpan Ubak, popularly known as King of the Boys, lauded the Chairman for his sustained support and initiatives aimed at youth empowerment.

They pledged their continued loyalty to the Chairman and reaffirmed their support for the administration of His Excellency, Pastor Umo Eno, Ph.D.
