The city of Uyo came alive in a vibrant display of colours, chants, and youthful enthusiasm as no fewer than 10,000 supporters flooded the metropolis in a massive sensitization and endorsement rally for Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Godswill Akpabio, and Umo Eno.
The rally, organized by the City Boy Movement, drew participants from all 31 local government areas of the state. Youths and women turned out in large numbers, marching in solidarity and expressing strong support for continuity in leadership.
Addressing the enthusiastic crowd, the State Coordinator of the movement, Engr. Iboro Johnny, described the massive turnout as a clear reflection of public confidence in the three leaders. He noted that their leadership has delivered stability, development, and renewed hope, strengthening the case for their re-election.
In his remarks, Johnny commended President Tinubu’s efforts at repositioning Nigeria, highlighting ongoing initiatives aimed at tackling longstanding national challenges while fostering international partnerships for job creation and economic growth. He also praised Senate President Akpabio for promoting harmony between the legislative and executive arms of government, describing his leadership as vital to national cohesion.
On the state front, he applauded Governor Umo Eno for his inclusive and unifying leadership style, which he said has restored peace and reduced divisions within Akwa Ibom. “Today, we have a state bound by unity rather than division. The atmosphere is peaceful, and governance is people-oriented. This is why we believe he deserves another term,” he stated.
The rally gained further momentum as local government coordinators, including Essien Udim Chapter Coordinator, Engr. Chris Ntuen, and Uyo Chapter Coordinator, Hon. Harry, moved and seconded motions adopting the trio as sole candidates of the APC for the next electoral cycle. The motion was met with resounding approval from the crowd.
A symbolic highlight of the event was the presentation of an award to the State Coordinator of the City Boy Movement by the Director of Humanitarian Affairs of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), Akwa Ibom State Chapter, Comrade Patience Okorafor, in recognition of his leadership and mobilization efforts.
The rally reached a crescendo as supporters broke into songs praising President Tinubu, reinforcing the movement’s message of loyalty and continuity. As the event drew to a close, the message was unmistakable—Uyo had spoken with one voice, echoing a strong call for sustained leadership and the continued delivery of democratic dividends.
