The Essien Udim Legislative Council  holds plenary today at the Council Legislative Chambers, Afaha Ikot Ebak with six out of eleven legislatures in attendance.

The House presided over by Hon. Udotun, read the order paper of the day which include: deliberations to relieve the Chief Whip/Deputy Chief Whip of their appointment due to incompetency, dissolution of the House Committee on Works, Agriculture and Health etc.

In view of the vacuum created on relieveing of the Chief Whip and Deputy Chief Whip of the house, Hon. Uduak Afangideh at the instance of the leader nominated Hon. Edemeka Ekpe and Hon. Eseme Akpan as Chief Whip and Deputy Chief Whip respectively, which was unanimously accepted by the house.

The house also unanimously  desolves the House committees on Works, Agriculture and Health with immediate effect.

The house unanimously resolved and summon the Director of Finance in the Local Government to appear before the floor of the House on 15th March, 2019 with all the financial documents of the Council.

In attendance were the Leader - Hon. Udotin, Deputy Leader - Hon. Ekerette Akpankpan, Majority Leader - Hon. Uwak, Deputy Majority Leader - Hon. Afangideh, newly elected Chief Whip - Hon. Edemeka and Hon. Eseme Akpan - newly elected Deputy Chief Whip.

Hon. Okokon Uwak brought to the attention of the house the threat to his life and that of his family by the PDP ward chairman ofhis ward, Evan. Uduak Johnson. The Deputy Leader of the house, Hon. Ekerette Akpakpan also allege threat to his life by some opposition stalwart in the Local Government and also appeal to the house to send an official complaint to relevant security agencies in the State.

The house adjourned its sitting to 15th March, 2019.
