SWAN SEEKS SPONSORSHIP FOR SPORTS DEVELOPMENT IN A'IBOM

COMMUNIQUE ISSUED AT THE END OF SPORTS WRITERS ASSOCIATION OF NIGERIA (SWAN), AKWA IBOM STATE CHAPTER CONGRESS HELD AT NUJ PRESS CENTRE ON FRIDAY, 24th JULY, 2020.


The State SWAN congress deliberated on a wide range of issues affecting sports Journalists in the State particularly as it concerns the recent thanks giving service held at The Apostolic Church, Four Towns and its other projects.

The congress commended the State Government and His Excellency, Governor Udom Emmanuel for the support given  to the association during the event and vowed to be a worthy partner in the development of sports in the State.

Congress agreed that members should be more proactive and work in tandem with the different Sports Associations in the promotion of sports in the State and Nigeria at large.

Furthermore, congress applauds the Honourable Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Sir Monday Uko, Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Sports, Elder Paul Bassey, the Chairman, House of Assembly Committee on Security, Youth and Sports, Rt. Hon. (Otuekong) Nse Essien, Commissioner for Environment and Petroleum Resources, Hon. Ekong Sampson, ALGON Chairman, Hon. Frank Archibong, other Executive Chairmen, Chairman, Board of Governos, Tower of Ivory Schools, DIG Udom Ekpoudom (RTD), Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Youth and Sports, Deaconess Mary Mary, other dignitaries as well as The Apostolic Church Nigeria, Four Towns Assembly for their unwavering support during and after the Special Worship Session.

Congress noted the dynamic leadership of the Chairman, Mr. Emmanuel Akpan and the State Working Committee members, while saluting the Special Worship Session Committee for organising a memorable event worth emulating.

Reiterated the commitment of the State Chapter of SWAN to the retraining of members through capacity building programmes and solicited for sponsors to partner the association towards making such projects a reality.
