...Cries to Governor Udom Emmanuel,Wife over Political Marginalization

Youths of Ikot Ibritam Community in Oruk Anam came out in large number today, August 3,2020 to stage a peaceful protest and cried to the Akwa Ibom State Governor,Mr Udom Emmanuel and wife,Dr.Martha Udom Emmanuel for their help over what they described as Marginalization of the area for over 32 years of the Community's existence.


Ikot Ibritam Community is the Headquarters of Oruk Anam Local Government Area and houses the Council Secretariat for over three decades now.From investigation,the Community despite being the headquarters of the council area is yet to produce either of a Council Chairman,Vice or even Secretary of council after years of consistency and support to past Governments in the area and Akwa Ibom State in general.


In the peaceful demonstration which saw youths numbering over two hundred with placards calling on their in-law,Governor Udom Emmanuel as well as their daughter,the First Lady of the State,Dr.Martha Udom Emmanuel to help intervene in the years of Political Marginalization by supporting a son of the area to be the next Council Chairman of Oruk Anam Local Government Area.

"We are Ikot Ibritam Youth Liberation Movement,since I was born till now,our community has not produced a Council Chairman, Vice or even Council Secretary.We have suffered a lot and we need the Government to support a son of the area to be the next Chairman of the area.We have an illustrious son of the soil,Hon(Pastor) Nseobong George who will be able to lead the area effectively.We don't have electricity or any Government presence in our community for years now and it is a great marginalization to us as a community.Please the Government should help us." The spokesman of the youths,Comrade Otobong Akai narrated to newsmen.

The youths described Pastor Nseobong George who is a son of Ikot Ibritam Community as "the most credible and qualified person" with the prerequisite educational backings to lead Oruk Anam Local Government Area as Council boss out of what they described as "mal-administration and underdevelopment of the area" and called on him to bring his wealth of experience in the entrepreneurial world and private sector to empower the youths of Oruk Anam LGA  in the forthcoming race and for the betterment of Oruk Anam Local Government Area in effective leadership.
