COVID 19: UKPONG-UDO FULFILLS PROMISE TO CONSTITUENTS

...200 U-Martha Ambassadors receives palliative

About 200 Akwa Ibom indigenes from Ikono-Ini Federal Constituency have received the first of their monthly emoluments, courtesy of the U-Martha Ambassadors Scheme.

The scheme, a palliative initiative of the member representing Ikono/Ini Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon.(Obong) Emmanuel Ukpong-Udo, is an alternative income to cushion the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic which has ravaged the global economy.

The scheme is in fulfilment of a pledge made by Obong Ukpong-udo seeing the dire economic impact of the coronavirus outbreak in April 2020, and will gulp 4million Naira monthly. It is structured for 100 indigenes from each of Ikono and Ini Local Government Areas of the Constituency, and 30 of these 200 beneficiaries are students.

Some of the beneficiaries have expressed their gratitude to Hon. Ukpong-udo for being a promise keeper.
Clement Eyo, a journalist, acknowledged receipt of his stipend, as promised, for the month of July, noting that the scheme is real and genuine. Martin Bassey, acknowledged the timeliness of the scheme, especially for a new graduate such as himself and thanked the lawmaker for the initiative.

By this gesture, Hon. Ukpong-Udo continues to make good his promise of tending to the welfare of his constituents.
