IBIONO IBOM TC CHAIRMAN COMMENDS GOV UMO ENO FOR YOUTH INCLUSIVENESS IN GOVERNANCE

 



The Transition Committee Chairman, Ibiono Ibom Local Government Area, Hon. NsikanAbasi Ukobot has commended the Governor of Akwa Ibom State, His Excellency, Pastor Umo Eno for allowing youths to serve in his government.

  


The Council boss made this commendation during an interactive session with the youth leaders in his office  on Tuesday, 19th March 2024.


Stating categorically that certain decisions made today are binding on the future generation of which the older generation will not be around to face the consequences.



Reiterating the need to involve youth in governance, Comrade Ukobot promised to follow the steps of His Excellency by integrating the youths into decision-making and dividends of democracy. In his words, "I am an ardent believer of youth Inclusiveness into governance in spirit and in action".


Noting that his led committee is sixty-five percent youth-inclusive. Hence, his resolve to allot forty per cent to youth, thirty-five per cent to women, while the remaining percent be given to the older generation.


Hon. Ukobot enumerated his achievements since assumption of office to include, quick response to grade Ikpanya road, renovation of corpers lodge,  Establishment of a cooperative for widows of Legionnaires in Ibiono Ibom, beautifying of Council secretariat and lots of ongoing projects. 


Responding, the Personal Assistance to the Governor on youth matters, Comrade Victor Kofi congratulated the chairman and members of the committee on their attainment of a hundred days in office.


Expressing optimism that a lot will be achieved at the end of their tenure He commended the giant strides attained so far by the transition committee.


Also speaking, the state representative of Itu/Ibiono Ibom federal Constituency caretaker committee, National Youth Council of Nigeria, comrade Eyibio Victor declared support by the youth leaders to ensure the smooth running of the Transition committee tenure.


In his vote thanks, to youth council Chairman Ibiono Ibom Chapter, comrade Etebong Odiong thanked the chairman for impactful leadership since his assumption of office. 

 

He appealed for renovation of rice mill at Ikot Usen which will go a long way to ameliorate poverty and hunger when put into use. 


All youth leaders of various groups in Ibiono Ibom were in attendance to celebrate with the chairman.
