In the annals of governance, the first 100 days in office often serve as a litmus test for leaders, a period marked by promises made tangible, aspirations turned into action, and a glimpse into the trajectory of leadership. It is within this crucible of time that the true essence of a leader's vision, commitment, and capability is laid bare. In the case of Hon. Inibehe Umah, the Transition Committee Chairman of Ini Local Government Area, these initial days have been nothing short of transformative, characterized by a relentless pursuit of progress and a steadfast dedication to the welfare of the people. 



On the auspicious day of December 7, 2023, amidst a backdrop of anticipation and optimism, Hon. Inibehe Umah was sworn in as the Transition Committee Chairman of Ini Local Government Area. This seminal moment marked the dawn of a new era, as the mantle of leadership was entrusted upon him by the people, a sacred covenant forged in the crucible of democracy and accountability. Since that momentous occasion, Hon. Inibehe Umah has embarked on a transformative journey of service and stewardship, his tenure characterized by a relentless pursuit of progress and an unwavering commitment to the welfare of the people.

Within the period of 100 days, Hon. Umah has, amongst other things, achieved the following; 


1. Facilitated Free JAMB Enrollment for Ini Indigenes:


In a bold stroke of advocacy and empowerment, Hon. Inibehe Umah initiated a groundbreaking program aimed at removing financial barriers to education for the indigenes of Ini. Through strategic partnerships and tireless advocacy, he facilitated free enrollment for the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) examination, unlocking doors of opportunity for countless aspiring students who dared to dream beyond their circumstances.


2. Payment of Monthly Stipends to Legion Members:


Hon. Inibehe Umah's commitment to honouring the sacrifices of our nation's veterans extends beyond mere rhetoric, manifesting in tangible support and unwavering solidarity. By ensuring the prompt and regular payment of monthly stipends to Legion members, he has provided a lifeline to those who once served with valour, ensuring their dignity and well-being are upheld in their twilight years.


3. Partnering with Village Heads for Peace and Tranquility:


In a testament to the power of collaboration and community-driven initiatives, Hon. Inibehe Umah has forged strong alliances with village heads across Ini, recognizing them as invaluable custodians of peace and tranquility. Through dialogue, diplomacy, and a shared commitment to the common good, they have embarked on a collective journey towards fostering harmony and cohesion in the villages.


4. Provision of Funds for Logistics for Monthly Meetings of Ini Traditional Rulers Council:


Acknowledging the pivotal role of traditional institutions in governance and community development, Hon. Inibehe Umah has allocated funds for the seamless facilitation of monthly meetings of the Ini Traditional Rulers Council. This strategic investment ensures that the voices of tradition are heard, and the wisdom of our forebears continues to guide the trajectory of progress and development within the local government area.


5. Establishment and Inauguration of Education Support Committee:


In an era where access to quality education remains a fundamental pillar of societal progress, Hon. Inibehe Umah has laid the groundwork for a transformative paradigm shift through the establishment and inauguration of the Education Support Committee. Charged with the noble task of championing the cause of education, this committee stands as a beacon of hope for Ini students, ensuring that no dream is left unfulfilled due to financial constraints or societal barriers.


6. Payment of School Fees Grants to Indigent Students:


In a gesture of compassion and solidarity with the vulnerable members of society, Hon. Inibehe Umah has instituted a groundbreaking school fees grants program, providing much-needed financial assistance to indigent students striving to pursue higher education. This initiative serves as a potent symbol of inclusivity and equity, ensuring that the doors of opportunity remain open to all, regardless of socioeconomic status or background.


So far, five students have received N100,000 each.


7. Commencement of Ini Community Extension and Urban Decongestion Programme:


With an eye towards the future and a commitment to sustainable development, Hon. Inibehe Umah has embarked on a transformative journey towards urban renewal and rural rejuvenation through the commencement of the Ini Community Extension and Urban Decongestion Programme. By prioritizing the grading of rural roads and enhancing accessibility to underserved communities, he is laying the foundation for a more equitable and inclusive future for all residents of Ini.


8. Engagement of 10 Ex-servicemen in Security Checks and Intelligence Gathering:


Recognizing the paramount importance of security in fostering peace and prosperity, Hon. Inibehe Umah has taken proactive measures to bolster security efforts within Ini LGA. Through the strategic engagement of 10 ex-servicemen in security checks and intelligence gathering, he has reinforced the frontline of defense, ensuring that the safety and security of residents remain paramount in the pursuit of progress and development.


9. Construction of INI GATEWAY to the Local Government Secretariat 


Under the diligent leadership of Hon. Inibehe Umah, Chairman of the Ini Transition Committee, significant strides have been made towards the realization of the Ini Gateway project. While the construction of the gateway to the Local Government Secretariat is ongoing, remarkable progress has been achieved, marking a pivotal step forward in enhancing aesthetics and accessibility in the area. 


The project will  serve as a symbol of pride and progress in Ini LGA. 


10. Commencement  INI RICE FARM Initiative 


In a demonstration of visionary leadership, Hon. Inibehe Umah, Chairman of the Ini Transition Committee, has spearheaded the initiation of the Ini Rice Farm project with unwavering determination and foresight. Through strategic engagements with Chiefs and leaders of Mbiabet Ikpe,  a community where the farm will be sited, Hon. Umah has laid the groundwork for the establishment of a transformative agricultural venture aimed at bolstering food security and economic prosperity. The recent inspection of the farmland site further underscores Hon. Umah's commitment to sustainable development and community empowerment. By harnessing the agricultural potential of the region, the Ini Rice Farm initiative promises to create employment opportunities, stimulate economic growth, and uplift livelihoods within the community. 


Hon. Inibehe Umah's proactive approach to governance sets a precedent for effective leadership and collaborative development initiatives, ensuring a brighter future for the people of Ini.
