Ideological politics: Ezekiel Nya-Etok, others harp on need for good governace

Mary Ekere
The Ideologist of Social Governance fundamentals, Arc Ezekiel Nya-Etok has harped on the need for ideological politics and good governance in Akwa Ibom State.

Himself a gubernatorial candidate of the YDP, Arc Ezekiel Nya-Etok and other guests, a gubernatorial candidate of the YNRP during the 2019 elections, Mr Iboro Otu and Mr Victor Akai insisted that ideological politics through a bottom to top approach will aid the State in bettering the welfare of the people.

They made the affirmation in Uyo, the Akwa Ibom State capital during the radio program, 10 to 11am on XL 106.9 FM" aired every Wednesday and livestreamed on the "Office of the Citizen of Akwa Ibom State" Facebook page.

Anchoring the program, Arc Ezekiel Nya-Etok in the fundamentals birthed by him philosophized that the top to bottom approach be brought to bare in the governance of Akwa Ibom State with the primary objective of bringing the citizens out of poverty.

Decrying the act of vote buying witnessed during the recently held general elections in the State, Mr Iboro Otu said that ideological politics is what is needed now to move the State forward.

Otu stated that "it is time to reach out to the people and educate them that the worst thing that can happen to us is vote buying. With certain policies like this social  governance ideologies on ground to educate citizens on what good governance, vote buying can be phased out".

Speaking too in support of the ideological politics and good governance as what is required to move the State forward, Mr Victor Akai said "if we have an ideology of disempowering a people, then there is also another way to empower the people".

Akai posited that "if the 'top to bottom' approach has failed us then common sense should make us understand that it's time to change the approach to 'bottom to top' approach as embedded in the Social Governance Fundamentals".
