OVER 12 INTERNAL ROADS INTERVENTION PROJECT UNDERGOING MASSIVELY IN EKET

The present administration in Akwa Ibom State has proven that transport infrastructure is one of the most important factors for the state industrialization, inspite of economic challenges. The important of transportation infrastructure in a growing state cannot be overemphasized then, because it is the lifeline of industrialization in such state. It is proven by so many instances by the Honourable Commissioner for Works, Akparawa Ephraim Inyangeyen that how transport infrastructure can add speed and efficiency to Akwa Ibom state progress, occasioned by the Ministry of Works' delivery of good physical connectivity in the urban and rural areas of the state in the last two years, and this is essential for the state's economic growth. Quite interestingly, Eket, being one of the oldest cities in the state with collapsed road infrastructure is taking a new dimension with over 12 internal roads undergoing construction currently within the Eket metropolis, coupled with the Eket beautification remodeling project.
Inspecting these internal road intervention projects in Eket yesterday, Tuesday, January 23, 2018, which include Edet Udo Street, Ikot Odion - Ikot Abasi Road, Apostolic Road, Esa Akpan Road, Idong Mbang Street, Idua Road, Chief Assam Crescent Ede Urua Road and Spur among several others, the Honourable Commissioner for Works, Akparawa Ephraim Inyangeyen, expressed satisfaction over the pace of work done on these roads. According to him; " His Excellency has been receiving text messages that, Eket, being one of the oldest cities in the state, that, almost a good number of roads in Eket have been collapsed hence, needed government intervention, now there is government intervention here, all what we need to do is to increase our present in Eket, and we are going to double our effort in ensuring these internal roads in Eket are completed for use by the people of Eket on or before March ending this year". He however urged the Eket Council Chairman, Mr. Frank Achibong , who accompanied him during the supervision of these projects, to ensure that, he supervise these projects continuously, so as to make contractors keep to the completion guidelines of these projects.g
