Nsima Ekere's men thwart Udoedehe

... As Amadu Attai  reemerges

...Nsima Ekere, Supporters Mock Udoedehe

...Describe him as Uyo Powerless Show boy

Against the backdrop of the just concluded All Progressives Congress,APC, Congresses across the state in which the current APC state party chairman, Dr. Amadu Attai reemerged the party head in the state, the Managing Director, Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC, and 2019 APC Governorship hopeful Mr. Nsima Ekere with his supporters, has mocked Senator John Udoedehe for loosing grip of the party in Akwa Ibom State, describing him as Uyo show boy still living in past glory.

Nsima Ekere and his supporters were said to have celebrated the reemergence of Dr. Amadu Attai as the state party chairman, where they spew disdainful words on Udoedehe and his supporters.

It can be recalled that last week, some personalities in the APC including Senator Udoedehe, Senator Ita Enang, Atuekong Etiebet, Mr. Umanah Umana had held a press conference assuring the public that they have brokered a truce among the warring factions within the party and would move together henceforth.

Our reporter gathered from an insider who was privy to the content of the meeting that, a major proposal pushed by Udoedehe was for the State party Chairman, Dr. Amadu Attai to step down and be replaced by another person having served as chairman right from the days of ACN.

It was gathered that for the interest of peace,  everybody accepted the peace deal, but Nsima was said to have cajoled the newly elected chapter chairmen, who are yet to be acknowledged by the party headquarters, with huge cash flow to pass a vote of confidence on Amadu Attai and declared as chairman.

Our source said that Nsima believes that with Amadu Attai as chairman of the party, he can manipulate things in his favour.

Nsima Ekere and his supporters are said to be boasting that they have given Senator John Udoedehe, whom they described as UYO POWERLESS SHOW BOY, a final resting place like a dead man.

Nsima is said to be boosting that his tricks on Udoedehe have worked out, and with the Senator now relegated to the background of the state chapter of the party despite his boastful national connection at the party headquarters, his dream of clinching the APC Governorship ticket in Akwa Ibom, is gradually coming to fruition.

It can also be recalled that members of the All Progressives Congress in Akwa Ibom State, before the congresses, had kicked against a proposal by the State caucus chairman of the party, Atuekong Don Etiebet, to hold what they called “guided congresses” in the State.

A caucus member of the Party, Elder Enefiok Ekefre, had on Wednesday, May 2, 2018, in a press conference, described the proposal by Don Etiebet is “undemocratic”, “unacceptable” and has the potential to disunite members of the party.

He said there must be changes in the leadership of the party and approved guidelines for congresses must be followed judiciously.

“For a vibrant democracy, there must be a change in the leadership of the party. The persons leading the party must be knowledgeable; I don’t think the man running the party in the State knows what he is doing. If the decision of the party is that we should not change the zoning of positions, let’s change individuals and bring in people who are knowledgeable in party administration”.

Ekefre claimed that Etiebet was trying to assert himself unnecessarily over the majority in the party who want free, fair, and transparent congresses.

It was gathered that the concept of guided congresses proposed by Don Etiebet was actually Naima Ekere’s idea to outsmart Udoedehe and his loyalists which he has succeeded.

With the peace deal now shattered, many Akwa Ibomites and Udoedehe loyalists are anxiously waiting to see if Udoedehe will throw in the towel and allow those he often describe as “strangers” to takeover the party.
