Eket Council Boss Pays a Surprise Visit to Nditia Peninsula
-Promises to erect a Market for the community
-Donates Chairs for Use in Council Hall

Determined to improve the living standard and create a sense of belonging among the people living in Nditia Peninsula in Eket Local Government Area, the council chairman, Hon. Frank Archibong recently paid a Surprise visit to Nditia Community .
He donated chairs to the village council hall, while promising to build a market for the community during his tenure.
The donation to the benefiting community was part of the chairman's promise to the community during his Campaign tour of the area before the local government election last December.
Speaking in Nditia , a Community in Ward Central 5, the wife of the Chairman, Mrs Bright Archibong who represented her husband, said the gesture was aimed at fulfilling his promises made by the chairman to bring government closer to the people.
Mrs Archibong, said the gesture was in appreciation of the support the community gave the ruling party in state (PDP) at the just concluded local government elections.
She assured the community that the government hasn't forgotten them and that plans are underway to link the community with other villages without passing through the waterway.
She said she was there to see things for herself, since she was unable to visit the area during the campaign period and promised to facilitate the construction of market stalls for women in the area.
While suing for continuous support and prayers for Governor Udom Emmanuel, she advised those who do not have voters card to participate in the ongoing voters registration by getting registered so as to enable them exercise their franchise in the upcoming general elections and return Deacon Udom Emmanuel as governor for a Second term.
Receiving the items on behalf of the community, the village council chairman, Chief Charlie Edohoeket thanked the Chairman, Hon Frank Archibong for fulfilling the promise he made just after 2 months in office and promised to continue to support the administration of Governor Udom Emmanuel to succeed.
He used the opportunity to pour encomium on the wife of the chairman for paying a Surprise visit to
the community, saying that "she is the first wife of a sitting local government chairman that has visited the area after election".
During an interactive session, he listed some of the challenges facing the community to include: Access road, Health center, Market for the Women and primary school for their children who usually use canoe to attend school in other communities.
The wife of the chairman later inspected the proposed site for a village market and health center.She walked the length and breadth of the community with the people.
It could be recalled that the Executive Chairman of Eket local government area, Hon Frank Archibong during his village to village tour before the local government elections last December promised to donate chairs to the village council hall and also facilitate the restoration of the only borehole that serves the area with portable drinking water.
Nditia Peninsula, commonly called "Iko-Atai" by the locals is one of the Mobil Core Oil bearing Communities, strategically located as one of the few riverine gateways of Eket.
During the Visit, the Chairman's wife was accompanied by Councillor representing that ward, Hon Emem Wilson,Councillor representing Central 1, Hon Mayen Akpan,Councillor representing Okon Dev 2,Hon Ekaette Afia and Councillor representing Urban 3 Hon Francis Ebitu among others.
