 ITU COUNCIL BOSS ASSURES STUDENTS OF BURSARY PAYMENT



As Students of Itu extraction mark the 2021 "Students Week" the Executive Chairman of Itu Local Government Council; Hon. Barr. Etetim Onuk has reassured students from Itu Local Government Area of the administration's commitment towards ensuring the payment of bursary allowance to students studying in tertiary institutions, adding that they are currently working out modalities to ensure a smooth implementation of the policy.


Onuk gave the assurance at the Local Government Secretariat, Mbak Atai; when members of the National Association of Itu Student (NAITS) Worldwide paid him a courtesy visit. He stated that the administration remain committed to fulfilling their campaign promises, including student's welfare policies. He also commended the student body for their sustained peace and stability, pledging to continue supporting their lofty programmes.



In his address, the President NAITS Worldwide; Comrade Uwem Inwang expressed gratitude to the Council Chairman for remaining a pillar of support to the student's body. He said the visit was necessary to formally brief the Local Government Chairman on the activities lined up for the Students Week, as well as solicit for the Council's support.


Comrade Inwang observed that Itu students are pleased with the performance of the Council Chairman, particularly his support for the student body since their inauguration. He particularly lauded the Itu Council helmsman for his contributions towards a successful hosting of the first of its kind Itu Student's Week.
