The Councillors in a motion sponsored by the House Leader, Hon. Akaninyene Eyo and signed by thirteen others, expressed satisfaction with the tremendous strides the administration of Dr. Udo has achieved so far.

The Leader of the 7th Legislative Council, Hon. Ubong Effiong in his remarks said the achievements and healthy relationship of the Executive Chairman with the Councillors in Uyo local government area made them to pass a vote of confidence on his administration.

The Councillors at Thursday's plenary also passed a resolution ratifying the naming of the new Administrative Block as 'Udom Emmanuel Administrative Block'.

The ratification followed a motion moved by the House Leader, Hon. Akaninyene Eyo, who represents Ward 8 and seconded by Hon. Stella Ndarake, Councillor representing Ward 1.

The Executive Chairman, Dr. Uwemedimo Udo had earlier requested the Legislature to give endorsement on the decision of the Council to name the new Administrative Block after Governor Emmanuel.

Dr. Udo in a letter sent to the Legislature said, "this is in recognition of the huge support and cooperation we have received from the leader of the State, His Excellency, Governor Udom Emmanuel and his exceptional love for the people of Uyo which is evident in major people-oriented projects and appointments of many of our illustrious indigenes into various offices in the Government of Akwa Ibom State."

The Chairman, who later met with the lawmakers, appreciated them for their support so far and pledged to make their welfare a priority as he urged them to work harmoniously to bring continuity to this season of good governance at the grassroot.
