ONOFIOK LUKE'S N10m OFFER TO APC CHIEFTAINS REJECTED


...negotiates to support Buhari, Ekere

The House of Representatives candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Etinan Federal Constituency, Barr. Onofiok Luke has reportedly failed in his bid to lobby bigwigs of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Etinan Federal Constituency.

It was gathered over the week that his attempts to financially induce the APC chieftains became futile as his 10 million Naira offer to Mr. Idongesit Asuquo Bassey, brother to a former National Assembly member, Rt. Hon. Emah Bassey, was rejected.

Luke wanted the money to be disbursed to APC bigwigs to secure their support ahead of the House of Reps election.

Luke also reportedly pleaded with Mr. Idongesit Bassey to help convince his brother, Rt. Hon. Emah Bassey, to support him.

Bassey rejected the offer and also rebuffed Luke's promise to discretely work for the success of President Muhammadu Buhari and APC governorship candidate, Mr. Nsima Ekere, at the polls in the federal constituency.

This reporter was also informed that APC chieftains including Atuekong Sunny Jackson had earlier rejected Luke's offer.

Rt. Hon. Onofiok  Luke of the PDP will face a former House of Reps member, Rt. Hon. Dan Akpan of the APC in the election slated for February 16, 2019.
