The date December 31st, 2018 would remain historical in the annals of Ibibio race as it was sacredly designated to witness the Coronation of Ntenyin Solomon Etuk as the 4th Oku Ibom Ibibio, which is the highest traditional stool in Ibibio heritage. The occasion as expected was filled with grandeur showcasing the rich heritage of the Ibibio people as it also attracted prominent persons including traditional rulers from various parts of the country.
There, was, however an article birthed in mischief with a narrative that is insidious, as usual and authored by one of the morally bankrupt and educationally deficient media baboons of Governor Udom Emmanuel, an equally inept person. The article attempts to attach meanings to the unavoidable absence of Obong Nsima Ekere and Senator Godswill Obot Akpabio at the grand event.
The fact that the author of the article entitled NSIMA EKERE: THE BID TO MAKE OF AN INSOLENT A “GOVERNOR”,
Mr. Emmanuel Nicholas, Special Assistant to Governor Emmanuel on Media (Research and Documentation) is a clown, is not in dispute. The major dilemma is actually figuring out where to place him in the hierarchy of clowns. Mr. Emmanuel Nicholas in his signature delivery of conjugational flaws and disgusting grammatical blunders is attempting to pitch two brotherly tribes against each other.
The Coronation of the Ibibio Monarch is an epic event that should be stripped of any prejudicial colourations as it encapsulates the unity amongst the Ibibio nation and its extended friendship to neighboring ethnic nationalities. It is not an occasion to purvey misleading and inciting narratives but a period to practice the insulation of matters of tradition from politics.
It is on record that three days before the event, the President and Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria was in the State as guest to Obong Nsima Ekere and Senator Godswill Akpabio, governorship and senatorial candidates both of the All Progressives Congress, respectively essentially for the historic flag-off of his Presidential Campaigns. It is not unusual for the both men to have had very busy schedules post the event, comparing notes on how to strategize to move Akwa Ibom State forward. The visit of a prominent person like that of the President of a country must have a spillover effect for a period of time before it finally dissipates. These views are in tandem with common deductions.
But Mr. Nicholas in all his stupidity and skewed sense of reasoning has once again made the good people of Akwa Ibom have good reasons to boot his boss, Governor Udom Emmanuel and his assemblage of clannish clowns out of the Hiltop Mansion through inciting articles that border on bigotry which many would construe to have the tacit endorsement of his Boss, Mr Governor.
Mr. Nicholas should please not divert the attention of the people from the plethora of prevarications that his boss, the governor has fed them since inception; the latest being the Ibom Air which has really gotten the people constipated. The actions and inactions of the Deacon Governor on the Ibom Air is a case study in organized crime and should earn him a “Ponzi Award”
Starting an airline business gulps a lot of time and resources. It entails a sizeable investment for completing the certification processes, leasing or purchasing planes, recruiting, training and paying personnel as well as paying for gate space at various airports. There is also the need to promote flights and set up a reservation system. To get an idea of the investment required, Skybus Airlines, gathered US$160 million in 2007 to open its doors in Columbus, Ohio, USA.
An airline with plans to carry more than nine passengers per plane must contact the Flight Standards Office to obtain FAA Form 8400-6, Pre-Application Statement of Intent. This is the first of the several steps that culminates in obtaining Part 121 Air Carrier Certification, required to officially open an airline.
The above mentioned are technical aviation procedures that may be confusing to the lay man. In this regard, a trip down the business registration process will aid us uncover the scam inherent in the Udom administration.
Ibom Air, expected to be a limited liability company must be registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission, (CAC) as provided by the Companies and Allied Matters Act 1990 as amended. Mr. Udom and his converge of stealth pillagers should please tell the good people of Akwa Ibom if the Ibom Air is duly registered with the CAC, the date of registration and the related registration number.
Mr. Emmanuel Nicholas should tell us why Ibom Air was not included in the budget yet miraculously came into existence and had appropriation in the budget. Mr. Nicholas should ask his Boss what he has done with the over NGN1trillion he has so far received from Federation Account and Internally Generated Revenue. The much touted peace is still sustained by the equipment purchased by Senator Akpabio during his time as governor. He should tell the if he has bought even a torchlight for the police as an additional equipment that has added value to the peace he inherited.
Mr. Emmanuel Nicholas should please tell the good people of Akwa Ibom why his Boss has planned to decimate the voting strength of Students in Akwa Ibom, who are tired of his array of excuses for ineptitude and below zero performance, by luring them to untimely death using spurious cash donations he knows they will kill themselves over.
Mr Emmanuel Nicholas should please ask his Boss why he patronizes vain men with divisive tendencies who fan the embers of conflict around the State.
At this point, it behooves me to advise Mr. Emmanuel Nicholas to desist from this shameful act of stoking ethnic crises. The good people of Akwa Ibom State have other productive issues to discuss about and clearly are not interested in any parochial narratives embedded in hate and wickedness. Let it seep into his fiddle headed numbskull that the proliferation of hate is more dangerous than the proliferation of weapons because the latter's effectiveness is predicated on the other. If you feel you have a good product to market, do so outlining the advantages and stop this senseless ethnic bigotry.
