UDOM INHERITED AN OVERSIZED SHOE FROM AKPABIO -EKON

Rt. Hon. Emmanuel Ekon, APC Candidate/member representing Abak/Etim Ekpo/Ika Federal Constituency has said that Governor Udom Emmanuel's greatest problem is an oversized shoe he inherited from Sen. Godswill Akpabio which has inflicted inexplicable woes and frustration on the citizenry in his three and half years in the saddle as governor of the State.
He was however quick to allay the fears daily building up that Obong Nsima Ekere, the next governor of the State will not only fit into Sen. Akpabio's shoe, but that he has the capacity as well as extensive experience from his private and public sectors exposure to continue from the revolutionary transformation the former governor had begun in the State.
He frowned at misplacement of priority in the area of empowerment whereupon party officials who benefitted immensely from government ought to embark on futuristic empowerment such as skills acquisition, vocational trainings, Jamb and WAEC sponsorship and scholarships, actually have been emphasizing on provision of motorcycles and keke, oblivious of the inherent risks in the cause of riding them. He stressed that such vague gesture sharply contrasted with the sustained training programmes as well as projects he has initiated for his contituents, even as he stated that he preferred to teach his constituents how to fish instead of giving them fish. He further expressed disatisfaction that Udom Emmanuel's administration has been enmeshed in gross dishonesty, ethnic polarization and lack of transparency in virtually all sectors, with achievement claims known to be only good on bill boards.
Ekon made the disclosure at the APC Akwa Ibom North-West Senatorial District Ward Tour held Wednesday, 30th January 2019 at Primary School, Ikot Obio Oko, Ward 2, Abak. Thousands of PDP members who defected were received into the APC. The event had in attendance: Mr. Emmanuel Inyangetoh (Rep. Sen. Godswill Akpabio), Hon. Victor Nkanang (APC candidate, Abak State Constituency), Hon. Dr. Uwem Udoma, Barr. Emmanuel Udosen (former Chairman, Abak LGA), Engr. Akanimo Edet, Mrs. Elizabeth Akpan, Barr. Imo Imoh and many other dignitaries.
