...Ntekpere, youth/Sports Commissioner, Uko, Ors Hijack House of Assembly primaries

...Impose unpopular candidate on Constituents

By Our reporter
The just concluded Obot Akara/Ikot Ekpene state Constituency primaries of the Peoples Democratic Party  was allegedly marred by irregularities, fraud and rigging caused by the stateholders of the area.

Our investigation desk gathered that the incumbent House of Assembly member, Mr. Idongesit Ntepere, the State Commissioner of youths and Sports, Mr Monday Ebong Uko amongst others, allegedly connived and intimidated delegates from voting for Comrade Emmanuel Amama who aspired for the position.

Authentic delegates were barred from having access  to the Ikot Ekpene Stadium where the primaries was held, while hired thugs voted twice, and some thrice against the ethics of the PDP primaries.

Recounting his ordeals, the immediate past Transition Committee Chairman of Obot Akara Local Government Council, Comdrade Emmanuel Amama who was also an aspirant, said that he was robbed on his way to clinched the party's ticket.

"What was wrong in that field must not have been predicted of the party as far as I know who the party chairman is, I know who the leadership of the party is, I know that most of this things that was done was not predicted on the mindset of the party. But, I must confess that  the primary election was not a free and fare primary, people were bias but, I accept it in good fate and may God bless PDP in Jesus name", he stressed.

"The fact is, I was robbed, as far as that election was concern. There was no level playing ground as a party man, I have decided to let peace be" he said .

It was also gathered that  the same stakeholders had warned Amama to steer clear of the the primaries in other to impose Ntepere to the people. The ballot papers were written 'Idongesit' and was given to delegates, the stakeholders said it is the decision of the party.

"It will be high level of impunity for the party, without consultation to sit down and then uphold that a candidates or somebody is consensus. In that gathering, some of the delegates lost confidence in the support they were to give me because stakeholders of the Federal Constituency were all there.

"I had to manage to tell them that I was going to stand the election and that meeting was done particularly with delegates who were to vote for aspirants. So, I knew something was wrong and it was a kangaroo arrangements. But I give God the glory that I was able to air my mind and told them that, I appreciate them, for what the party has done.

Comdrade Amama reiterated that "one of the delegates who refused to vote left with this ballot papers. One person wrote everything because, it was the same hand writing for Ikot Ekpene Obot Akara Local Government Areas delegates.

"More than 30 delegates refused to vote at the election that's why the total number of delegates that voted cannot equate the very total number of delegates that were to  vote during the primaries. Some people whom they intimidated to boycott the primaries because they were not supposed to.

He called the leaders at different levels to create value for politicians, delegates and not after elections delegates are thrown out because they paid money to them.
