Essien Udim Women rally support for Gov. Emmanuel and Wife Martha,

On Wednesday 28th November 2018, Essien Udim Women played host to the Wife of the Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Her Excellency, Mrs. Martha Udom Emmanuel, where they unanimously declared total support for the reelection bid of her husband, and their in-law, Governor Udom Emmanuel come 2019.

Stakeholders in the area including, the Commissioner for Investment, Commerce and Industry, Prince Ukpong Akpabio and Wife, Ndifreke, Political Leader of Essien Udim, Obong Michael Afangideh, State Deputy Chairman of the PDP, Mr. Sunyekekere Inokon, Chairman of Essien Udim, Mr. Isobara, House of Assembly candidate under the PDP, Barr. Ese Umoh, Chapter chairman of PDP in Essien Udim, Mr. Ntiero Usoro, Councilors, among several others were on hand to receive the Governor's wife and her entourage to Essien Udim.
The women speaking through their Coordinator, Esther Inokon made it clear in their message that Essien Udim women can never abandon their grand-daughter and in-law in 2019. They vowed to support the Governor to complete a two term in office, same way they had supported past goverors.

On his part, the Commissioner for Investment, Commerce and Industry, Prince Akpabio urged Governor Udom Emmanuel to remain focused in his development drive, assuring that Essien Udim knows no other Governorship candidate other than Governor Udom Emmanuel whom he said has shown capacity in the past three years.

Reacting to recent happenings at the Akwa Ibom state House of Assembly, Prince Akpabio, the Political Leader of Essien Udim, Obong Afangideh, Special Assistant to the Governor on Projects, Mr. Anthony Luke who spoke on behalf of the youths and the Women Coordinator, Esther Inokon in their separate remarks, dissociated themselves and Essien Udim from what they described as the shameful conduct displayed by the sacked House of Assembly member for Essien Udim, Nse Ntuen as they maintained that Barr. Onofiok Luke is the authentic Speaker of the House of Assembly whom they know.

Thousands of APC women foot soldiers across the eleven wards in Essien Udim formally denounced their membership of the party, saying they would rather support the PDP than be identified with a party that is synonymous with violence and bloodshed.
Wife of the Governor who thanked Essien Udim women for supporting her husband and the PDP, presented wrappers as her Christmas gift and seed capital to assist the women in their business.
