...Court Retains Idongesit Ituen as AKHA Member

The Federal High court in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State has today, after it's judgement upheld the Stay of Execution application filed by Hon. Prince Idongesit Ituen, member respresnting Itu State Constituency in the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly.

Retaining the lawmaker's seat, the presiding judge, Justice Fatun Riman said the Ituen is a bona fide member of the House pending the determination of the Appeal Court Judgement.

It could be recalled that the lawmaker's seat was declared vacant by the speaker of the House, Rt Hon Onofiok Luke who said the action was backed by the Constitution.

Recall, Hon Idong Ituen's seat alongside that of his lawmakers colleagues that recently defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress was last Monday declared vacant by the Speaker of the House, Rt Hon Onofiok Luke.
